The Arrested Development Movie is NOT DEAD

Have no fear, Arrested Development fans. On Thursday, Jason Bateman was interviewed in regards to a phone call with Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz saying,

"It was just a little phone call, just catching up, a little reaching out and touching. The 'Arrested Development' movie is not dead, au contraire. This writers strike, it’s a devil’s playground. The guy doesn't have anything to do. But you’re allowed to write things you’re not being paid to do. So I'm trying to talk him (Hurwitz) into writing the ‘Arrested Development’ movie. And he could be coming around.”

Michael Cera has been behind an Arrested Development comeback from the beginning. "Yeah, if that would ever happen that would be great," said Cera. "I’ve heard about that since the show was canceled, basically. I don’t want to get my hopes up — but it would be great, I would love to do that."

Cera has always sounded enthusiastic about reprising his role as George Michael Bluth. Maeby he will get a chance to do so sooner than we think, because of the writers' strike.

Michael Cera in Superbad | on DVD Tuesday, December 4th

Superbad is hilarious! The movie is produced by Judd Apatow and co-written by Seth Rogen - who both worked on 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN and KNOCKED UP. Michael Cera steals the show as the sensitive and levelheaded Evan. His comedic delivery is perfect in Arrested Development fashion, and he never ceases to make the audience laugh.

Michael Cera Auditions for Knocked Up

This is a great clip of Michael Cera on the set of Knocked Up. This can be found on the special features of the DVD.

Michael Cera is auditioning for the role of Ben Stone. Director Judd Apatow, who later produced 'Superbad' starring Cera, continuously tells him to change his energy and delivery. HILARIOUS! Watch the video to see why Michael Cera didn't end up making the cut.

Judd Apatow: "Michael Cera thought he was the director..."

Katherine Heigl: "He really nailed it... Michael. It would have been great. Judd just doesn't have that kind of vision... Judd kind of is in the box"
